Prenatal Care

Prenatal care is the foundation of a safe and rewarding birth experience. Our prenatal visits, usually lasting an hour, are much longer than those of hospital providers, so you and your family have time to ask questions, share concerns, and gain information that is integral to your experience.

Your visits become more frequent as your due date approaches. We have monthly visits until 28 weeks, visits every two weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly visits until the birth.

Visits are done primarily at our office in Strasburg, VA, conveniently located right off I-81. Clients planning a home birth have their 36 week visit at home to ensure that we can adequately prepare the birth space. All clients, regardless of home or center birth, have their two day postpartum visit at home to minimize the travel families must make immediately postpartum.
