Meredith Routt CPM & RN
Meredith received her nursing degree from James Madison University in 2012 and started working as a student midwife and birth assistant immediately after.She completed her midwifery training through the PEP process in 2018 after working at Brookhaven & Premier Birth Centers.After getting her midwifery license, she started Linden Tree Midwifery, LLC in October 2018 as a small home birth practice. Linden Tree has been an amazing opportunity to work with the community she’s grown to love over the years while creating time to focus on her family. Her loves outside of midwifery include wandering in the woods with her husband, two daughters, and pups, reading for fun, and binging podcasts.
Kim Haines CPM
Kim is a second generation midwife with a passion for student education. She began attending births in 2004 and graduated from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in 2012. She has since been dedicated to raising the community standard of out-of-hospital care while precepting student midwives to provide exceptional birth options to low risk families of her community. Kim also thrives in the chaos of navigating her nonstop family life and raising five amazing kids with her equally passionate partner of 24 years.
Katie Black CPM & RN
Katie became a Registered Nurse in 2011 and immediately began her career at Reston Hospital where she gained invaluable knowledge and clinical experience. She became a labor doula in 2015 and shortly began working as a registered nurse birth assistant. Katie has worked with multiple midwifery practices over the years serving hundreds of families in our community. Pursuing her dream to become a midwife, she started as a student midwife in the fall of 2021. Katie and her husband have four children, two of which were born at home with Kim and Meredith. Her passions include her faith, her family and helping families have the birth of their dreams.
Jessica McKee Birth Assistant
Jess started her journey into birth work in 2005 when she attended the birth of her niece. She fell in love with birth, learned about doula work, and took her doula training in early 2006. She began attending births as an “official doula” shortly after her training. She got certified as a doula through DONA, and in her early years attended a good number of births both in and out of the hospital. She fell in love with home birth. In 2010 she began assisting out of hospital midwives as a student/birth assistant. Since then she has been a backup assistant for several local midwives while continuing her doula practice. In 2019 she began assisting Meredith regularly for Linden Tree Midwifery. She has attended two Spinning Babies workshops and stays certified in Neonatal Resuscitation.
Jessica (Jessie) Johnson Office Manager & Birth Assistant
Jessie has been working with midwives as an Office Manger/Administrative Assistant since 2017. When she is not around the office Jessie is also a Birth, Postpartum, and Bereavement Doula and birth assistant in training. Jessie has been married to her Husband Austin since 2015 and they have four beautiful children earth side (Caelynn, Mila, Atlas, and Aella). They also have two family pets, a dog named Karma and a Rabbit named Oreo. When not managing the office or doing birth work, Jessie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, reading, and journaling.
